David graduated from UCSD in March 2006 with a BS in Computer Science, and he loves building companies. Prior to emptyspaceads, David worked as a Program Manager in the Windows Mobile Multimedia Team. Prior to Microsoft, David founded Phonemyphone.com, Vibeslide an dStarving College Students. Earlier, David won a business plan competition at Kansas University, taking their $1,000 seed investment to $26,000 revenue/year with over 100,000 cell phone accessories sold with ChaseToys.com (in high-school), a company he subsequently sold.
After completing dual bachelors degrees in Computer Science and Finance from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Engineering and the Wharton School, Bilal joined Microsoft. He owned several high-impact user interface features in Windows Vista and Windows 7, and also drove data mining for Bing Mobile Search. Bilal joined emptyspaceads in May 2009 because he sees tremendous potential in monetizing 40% of the web's raw pixels with engaging, innovative ads.
Jeff is a founder of Makegood Software, which develops software and services helping website publishers better manage their online advertising operations. Prior to his current role he managed advertising sales and operations of CarDomain.com, one of the largest vertical social networks. Jeff has previously co-founded Suhari (later acquired by Medio Systems, a mobile advertising company), and has held strategy, alliances and sales roles at Microsoft, DataChannel, RealNetworks and MathSoft. Jeff holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington, where he was a National Merit Scholar.
After completing her master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Pennsylvania, Gayle spent three years at Google as Software Engineer and taught two Computer Science courses at the University of Washington. Gayle left Google to be the VP of Engineering of emptyspaceads. She is also the founder and CEO of two companies. The first company, CareerCup.com, provides technical interview prep for engineers. The second company, Seattle Anti-Freeze, organizes social and athletic activities for young professionals. Gayle is now a first year MBA student at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where she is focusing on entrepreneurship and venture capital.
